It's slowly getting warmer and summer is coming with wonderful temperatures. Especially when it gets hot outside, you don't always feel like eating a bowl of steaming porridge...
Or do you need everything to be done in a flash in the morning and everything should be done with just a dip in the fridge?
No matter whether you are looking for new inspiration, the perfect summer breakfast or a healthy dessert, you will find it in this blog post. Today I'm introducing you to my newest two "Overnight Oats" recipes. Translated, overnight oats means nothing more than overnight oatmeal. Instead of gently heating your porridge on the stove in the morning, soak the mixture in the evening (or at least a few hours beforehand) so that the goodness of the oats can develop and swell. Overnight oats are just as delicious as warm porridge and give you energy for a gentle start to the day.
Overnight oats are also full of good fiber, which keeps you full for a long time, as well as important proteins and vitamins.
Here now to my creations for you.
Berry overnight oats with chia agave crunch
For one serving, mix 40g Kerniger Classic and 5g chia seeds with around 120ml milk (I recommend oat milk for vegans), fill it into a Tupperware container or a mason jar and let the whole thing soak in the fridge overnight. In the morning the fresh toppings come: 1/2 banana slices, sky, quark or soy yoghurt, a few roasted oat flakes if you have a lot of time and energy, fresh blueberries and some agave syrup. Complete!
If you're in a hurry, you can layer the toppings on top of the mixture in the evening. Then just take it out in the morning and enjoy!! In a tupperware container or a mason jar, overnight oats are not only beautiful to look at, but also practical for on the go.
Cinnamon-fruity apple overnight oats
For one serving, mix 40g cinnamon apple and 5g chia seeds with around 120ml soy milk, fill it into a Tupperware container or a mason jar and let the whole thing soak in the fridge overnight. In the morning the fresh toppings come: 1/2 chopped apple (or grated tastes great), 2 tablespoons of soy yogurt, a teaspoon of natural peanut butter and a few dried goji berries. Vegan, natural and wonderfully delicious!!
Also wonderful as an afternoon snack in between or after exercise.
