Winter Breakfast Casserole: Baked Porridge

Winterlicher Frühstücksauflauf: Baked Porridge

Baked Porridge (also Baked Oatmeal) is a healthy breakfast casserole that should not be missing from any brunch or family breakfast. For the breakfast casserole, the porridge is mixed cold and topped with fruit and nuts, and then baked. For the Christmas season, Caro, co-founder of 3Bears, has created a baked porridge recipe with our limited winter variety. With our limited Winter Magic variety, there is a wonderful Christmas scent in the air while baking the Baked Oatmeal. Dates, figs, orange peel, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and star anise - the mixture of exotic fruits and highly aromatic spices smells and tastes wonderfully Christmassy. The Baked Oatmeal is perfect for a breakfast or as a dessert during the Christmas season. The Christmas baked porridge is a bit reminiscent of a juicy, aromatic fruit bread.

Ingredients

100g 3Bears Porridge Winter Magic

50g dried cranberries

350ml 3Bears organic oat drink

Maple syrup

1 apple

50g almonds

Preparation

For the Christmas baked oatmeal, mix the 3Bears Winter Magic Porridge with the dried cranberries and the 3Bears organic oat drink. If necessary, the porridge can be sweetened with a little maple syrup. Allow the porridge mixture to swell for approx. 10 minutes.

Core the apple and cut it into thin slices. Then cut the almonds into rough pieces.

Now, pour the porridge mixture into a small baking dish and place the apples on top. Before baking, spread the almonds over the breakfast casserole. The baked porridge will now bake for about 20 minutes at 200 degrees top heat.

Caro's tip: When serving, add some white almond butter over the baked porridge.
