A world championship dedicated to the oat meal porridge? What sounded like a fairytale to us at first became reality in the 700-person town called Carrbridge (in the Scottish Highlands). An exciting event in the homeland of Scottish porridge that we bears will not soon forget: on the first weekend in October, our managing director Caroline took part in the 25th “Golden Spurtle” Porridge Championship there. The entire 3Bears team was there to learn more about the origins of porridge and of course to give Caroline great support. A German television team was also there on behalf of the “Lion’s Den” to capture yesterday’s episode (and if you missed it, you can watch it here )!
A total of 31 porridge lovers from all over the world qualified for the big day - from 10:15 a.m. the rule was: may the porridge with the best taste, consistency and appearance win! In a friendly atmosphere, the international participants competed in two disciplines: the traditional “cooking porridge” with just water, oat bran and salt (“Scottish porridge”) and the “innovative” porridge art, in which there were no limits to the creativity of the chefs. In addition to the classic porridge, Caroline conjured up a fabulously delicious “Bavarian apple strudel porridge” under challenging conditions, which the three-person jury was thrilled with. After all, we wanted to bring a little bit of home to Scotland! Unfortunately, it wasn't enough for us to win in the “Porridge Specialties” category this year, but our motto is: being there is everything! We had a fabulous time in Scotland: from exploring Edinburgh, World Cup day itself, lots of porridge breakfasts, searching for Nessie and visiting a whiskey distillery (well, that was mandatory in Scotland of course).
....and if they didn't die, the bears returned to Germany with a lot of porridge inspiration and motivation. If you're looking for inspiration for your next vacation - a trip to Scotland is definitely worth it!

Liebes Bären Team, das war aber eine Überraschung wie der Beitrag über Euren " Familienausflug" nach Schottland eingeblendet wurde. Ihr habt nicht nur ein tolles Produkt, sondern zeigt damit auch Eure “Größe” als Unternehmer, indem Ihr Eure Mitarbeiter voll in Euren Unternehmenserfolg mit einbezieht und daran teilnehmen lasst. Das Team wird es Euch danken, das ist Motivation pur. natürlich habe ich gestern euren Beitrag bei den Löwen verfolgt. Es war Spitze und ihr müsst euch überhaupt nicht ärgern das es für den Sieg nicht gereicht hat. Ich liebe eurer Porrigde und sage macht immer weiter so und Apfelstrudel-Porrigde da läuft mir doch gleich das Wasser im Munde zusammen.

Liebes Bären Team, das war ein toller Beitrag in der Höhle der Löwen. Eine super Idee mit dem gesamten Team nach Schottland zu fahren, das motiviert die ganze Mannschaft noch mehr. Auch wenn es kein Sieg wurde gilt auch hier das Motto: “dabei sein ist alles” und Apfelstrudel Porrigde hört sich Spitze an!!! Macht weiter so!!!
