Oatmeal Baguette with Olive Hummus

Haferflocken-Baguette mit Oliven-Hummus

Sometimes things just have to go quickly in the evening! You are looking for a simple recipe for a delicious dinner that can be conjured up with just a few basic ingredients, and of course it tastes super delicious! Our dear guest blogger Bika would like to introduce you to two recipes. One of her favourite hummus recipes, an olive hummus, and a recipe for delicious oatmeal baguettes. And the recipe for the baguettes is something very special because the dough doesn't have to rise, it rises in the oven. This recipe is therefore perfect for a spontaneous decision to prepare this delicious dinner. Of course, both are also great for brunch, a cold dinner with friends or family, served with some antipasti, and much more.

For two baguettes. Preparation time: 10 minutes | Baking time: 35 minutes

300ml warm water
2 packets of dry yeast
500g wheat flour
1 pinch of sugar
1 tsp salt
30g olive oil

  1. Mix the dry yeast with the water in a bowl.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and mix with the dough hook of the hand mixer until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Divide the dough into two equal pieces, shape them oblong and swirl them in slightly to form the shape of a baguette.
  4. Sprinkle the baguettes with a few extra oats and place in the cold oven.
  5. Now set the oven to 200 degrees top and bottom heat and bake the baguettes for about 35 minutes. This way the dough rises while the oven heats up.

For the olive hummus . Preparation time: 10 minutes

400g chickpeas
1 clove of garlic
2 tbsp lemon juice
3 tbsp olive oil
5 tbsp water
150g olives
1 tsp sugar
Salt pepper

  1. Drain most of the water from the chickpeas until there is only a little left in the can.
  2. Put all the ingredients in a blender and puree well until the hummus has no pieces left.

Now enjoy it. Bon appetit! By the way, a little tip: if you're not a fan of olives, you can leave them out or prepare the hummus with a jar of dried tomatoes, for example.

Vielen lieben Dank für dieses wunderbare, schnelle Rezept. Das Weizenmehl ist aber optional, oder? Vollkorn, Mandelmehl&Co wären doch auch machbar?
LG Heidi
